Job Description: HVAC Service Technician

Purpose of Classification: Repairs, services and maintains heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, systems and related or connected equipment.

Duties:
1. Performs preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment and on connected or related equipment that is essential to the proper operation of the HVAC equipment. Examples - Electrical supply to the equipment, condensate piping and pumps, water supply to equipment, air distribution.

2. Diagnoses malfunctions or failures in HVAC and related equipment. Performs skilled repairs or part replacement to correct the problems.

3. Orders parts needed for a job and completes daily paperwork in accordance to Maki Heating and Air's procedures

4. Performs minor construction, remodeling, and installation of HVAC and related equipment, as required, to assist and supplement the installation crews.

5. Assists with training and receives training in the skills related to the HVAC trade.

6. Communicates with the Service Coordinator throughout the day

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Has journeyman level knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques of the HVAC trade.

2. Has the physical skill to apply the required maintenance and repair techniques.

3. Has the ability to effectively communicate.

4. Knows, understands and applies the Maki Standards for Business Practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Two years of HVAC maintenance and repair experience, OR

2. Completion of a one year training program in the repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment AND one year of HVAC maintenance and repair experience, OR -

3. Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and / or education approved by Maki Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.
